Gareth Edwards Talks Godzilla Remake

Monsters Movie ReviewI am not for remakes as a rule and I keep using that lame line on a regular basis but Godzilla is one I am looking forward to. The only real reason I am incredibly excited for this upcoming project is because of the involvement of the incredibly talented Gareth Edwards who directed MONSTERS one of the best indie-scifi-horror films since Splinter. When a guy does his own special FX on his personal computer and puts big blockbuster films to shame its a sign of incredible talent.

Gareth Edwards next project is Godzilla and Empire got a minute to talk to him about the project where he revealed he wants to make it his own while staying true to the original ( somewhat a cliche ).

“The thing that’s so interesting is that Godzilla has evolved since the original one in the ‘50s,” Edwards said, “so there is the opportunity to bring it up to date. But we want to stay true to the fanbase as well and I’m a fan of the Toho films.”

I look forward to what Gareth Edwards can bring to Godzilla and feel he is definitely the right man for the job.

Godzilla films will always hold a special place in my heart. They bring back a lot of good sat morning memories from when I was a kid, and also watching them with my kids. I’m pretty excited for this film too.

A Godzilla remake done right could be very awesome! As long as its not 3d 😛
