The long gestured off again, on again Robocop remake looks as if this time it will get the remake treatment. The film has Jose Padilha pegged to direct the remake for MGM. During this years Licensing International Expo, the guys over at ComingSoon.net managed to take a snap of the Robocop sales sheet and some promo art. So head on over to their site and take a gander.
On the sales sheet it is mentioned that Robocop is heading for a 2013 release date, so it is still very far away. In the meantime, they are offering up all sorts of Robocop merchandise through 2011 and 2012.

I agree. They have to pull something amazing out or it’s going to get stomped by the original. Which was fricking brilliant.
Not really impressed by the smirking poster either, it looks a little lame.
So is Hollywood so deficient of original ideas anymore that apart from tapping the comic book genre finally, all they’ve got left now is doing re-makes? Kinda like Nightmare On Elm Street or Friday The 13th. That’s the ticket. Lets do a re-make of movies that already had like 20 sequels each to begin with. The original Robocop was (for its time) original. Simply because now we have computer generated effects to assist & emerse ourselves in the movie going experience unlike ever before ( with updated & improved 3-D technology being too recent to include), doesn’t mean we have to re-make every cool period film over the last 70 years.

robocop is my favorite movie and this remake better not disappoint me or i will burn down the movie theater.
the remake will suck although u never know it might be decent so lets find out in 3 years.

Yet another classic that is going to be destroyed with a shitty unnecessary remake, I guss all we can do is hope and pray that michael bay has nothing to do with it cuz lets face it that asshole is the devil and public enemy number 1 in the horror world

I live in a world where ‘At the Mouth of Madness’ is cancelled once again, yet ANOTHER remake is given the green light? I wonder who’s **** the writers/directors will have to suck to convince the studio to bump it up to PG-13 so that there can at least be 3 curse words.

verhovens robocop score better be in it otherwise its going to suck. robocop 1 is terrific.
a pg 13 action film is like a pg rated XXX porno. usualy empty and pointless and lame. reboots suck when the drop scores just like sequel franchises. music makes a movie.
