Adam Green Talks Hatchet III Director

Adam Green Talks Hatchet III DirectorWith the Film4 FrightFest currently underway in London, England. The guys over at Bleeding Cool had the chance to speak with, Adam Green in which Green spoke of Hatchet III while giving major hints as to who will be directing the third Hatchet film.

“I hope everyone is excited because he was the right person for it. It’s not a name that everyone’s going to know, but when you hear who it is I think you’ll understand why I made the choice I did. What I can say is that he was my first choice all along, even when it came time to do the second one, at a certain point they wanted to do the second one and they didn’t want to wait for me, and this was the guy that I thought should do it. He’s been part of the Hatchet family the whole way, and I will tease just by saying that he was there for everything.”

“He’s the type of guy, he works on a lot of big movies, and if he’s wearing his Hatchet crew shirt, and if the guy on the crew for, like Transformers or whatever tries to talk shit, he physically beats the shit out of him.”

So with that being said, Bleeding Cool has a suspicion that the director in question could be, Craig Borden. Also noted on the site is, Hatchet III is said to begin filming on, February 2012.

Another thing, which I found quite interesting was, Adam Green, has said he was offered to handle a very well known slasher franchise. His immediate reaction was yes, but they soon told him they wanted it to  be done in a found-footage style, so he turned them down.

So what slasher film could that be?

I am sure that Adam Green doesn’t care. I am also sure that Adam Green knows these movies are not for everyone.

I liked the first one, the second one wasn’t as good but still enjoyable.

First Hatchet was a good, graphic slasher.  Second one had its moments but the awkwardness with some of the characters killed it for me.  I didn’t mind the gore.  I kinda miss the 80s heyday gore.
