Spike Lee’s upcoming remake of the 2003 Korean thriller Oldboy, appears to have cast their leading man in the film. For some time it has been rumoured that Josh Brolin was on Mandate’s short list to star in the remake.

Deadline, has confirmed that he will topline the remake which begins production this March. The new Oldboy has script adapted by Mark Protosevich, who will co-produce. Roy Lee and Doug Davison.

Still there is no word as to whether, Christian Bale will climb aboard, but I’m sure time will tell.

“The story centers on a man who is kidnapped on his daughter’s birthday and held for 15 years in solitary confinement without explanation. He is eventually released and sets out on a path to take revenge on those who destroyed his life.”
