Suspiria Remake Updates

Suspiria, Dario Argento’s vividly shocking horror film, has been in talks for a remake for quite some time. ShockTilYouDrop reported that David Gordon Green was asked in an interview with Coming Soon if the release of Black Swan may have toned down the excitement for the remake of Suspiria. He stated:

“No, that adds to it. That means there’s an audience for prestige in genre, and to me, that’s exciting. We’re really close to getting that movie made if I can get over a couple more budgetary hurdles I think I can pull it off. My version doesn’t really have any similarities to “Black Swan,” but it proves to the marketplace that you can take a great risk and you can have something that has great artistic ambition, but also has incredible commercial appeal.”

So when will this remake actually happen? I have to say, I am interested in seeing a different take on this classic, but at the same time, I am also nervous. David Gordon Green has only done comedies like Pineapple Express and the newest movie, The Sitter. How can you go from comedy to something like Suspiria? I’m very interested to see how this all plays out.
