Marcus Nispel Looks Ready to Hack & Slash

As I’ve said before, remakes are quickly becoming a thing of the past and adaptations are the new flavor of the month. And yes, you’ve guessed it, here we have yet another adaptation on the cards, but I have to say that this sounds badass.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marcus Nispel (Friday the 13th remake) has come on board to direct Hack/Slash for Relativity Media. The film is an adaptation of the comic book of the same name which was created by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli.

The story “centers on Cassie Hack, a woman who symbolizes the cliche of the lone girl who survives at the end of every horror movie. In this case, the girl not only survived but has become a killer of killers. Along with a hulking protector named Vlad, Hack travels across the country hunting slashers in the vein of Halloween’s Michael Myers, Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees and A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger.”

Fredrik Bond was previously attached when Universal’s now-deceased genre division Rogue Pictures acquired the project. Since then many writers and directors have come and gone and now Relativity Media owns the rights.

I’ve never read the comic, but judging from the plot I really need to hunt this one down and hopefully they can do it justice.
