The Devil Inside Dominates The Box Office

A slew of negative reviews, criticisms and general chatter has gathered for Paramount’s The Devil Inside. Many felt the ending fell short while others have praised the film. I’m still yet to see this one, but I can’t wait when I can. I still think the film looks pretty badass.

What ever your opinion on the film, it didn’t stop audiences flocking to the theatre to witness this one. According to Variety, The Devil Inside made an estimated $34.5 million over the weekend, which apparently makes it the “best-ever Stateside debut to start a new year.”

What was thought to be a somewhat disappointing start of the year, The Devil Inside has put those woes to rest as the film absolutely dominated at the box-office.

The film is also said to be the third-highest January debut as it trails slightly behind Cloverfield, which made $40.1 million, and the Star Wars re-issue, and its $35.9 million opening in 1997.

The Devil Inside is said to have been acquired by Paramount for $1 million, so it looks as if they have yet another profitable venture on their hands, I mean, that’s a lot of pocket change. So, with this box-office victory, it wouldn’t surprise me if sequels was spawned from this.
