From the Press Release:
“Brain Juice Productions has completed its first feature-length, horror movie, In The Devilʼs Courthouse. The feature made its red carpet premiere in Greensboro on November 10th, 2011, at the Carousel Luxury Cinemas, 1305 Battleground Avenue, and in Winston Salem on November 13th, 2011, at A/perture Cinemas, 311 West Fourth Street. In addition to the premiere events, In The Devilʼs Courthouse was shown twice daily from Friday, November 11th through November 17th at the Carousel. The movie is now available on DVD.
The story revolves around two dysfunctional siblings and their fight for survival against a blood thirsty creature straight out of Cherokee lore. In The Devilʼs Courthouse was written, produced, and directed by Ken Comito, but took the collaborative effort of family, friends, and colleagues to complete the project.
The movie was shot on location at Devilʼs Courthouse Mountain in Transylvania County in the Appalachian Mountains, Hanging Rock State Park, Jackson County, Trinity, Liberty, Burlington, Haw River, Pleasant Garden, and The Pisgah Covered Bridge in Asheboro.
The movie stars North Carolina talent, including lead actress, Ashley Marie Nelson of Wilmington and lead actor, Dustin Webb of Raleigh. Also featured are Kristen Snider of Nuremberg, Germany, Patrick Ferrara and Anita Martin Richter of Greensboro, Duane Trunnell of Haw River, and John Collier of Burlington.
The movie also features North Carolina musical talent and performances by Dreamkiller and Jive Mother Mary among others. The original score was created and performed by award-winning composers CutshawKane of Kings Mountain, NC.
In The Devilʼs Courthouse is the brainchild of Ken Comito, Jose Correa, Tim Scales, and Duane Trunnell; all of whom also produced, acted, and performed numerous other jobs during and after production. “We have a really close production team”, says Comito. Considering that his wife, two daughters, two nephews, and a brother-in-law were all involved in production, it was a real family operation.”
