Machete Kills For a Trilogy
Written by: Deth_Banger
There was once some crazy talks about Machete heading into space, whether that will still happen is relatively unknown, but we do know that the sequel, Machete Kills is inching ever closer to actually going ahead with a trilogy planned.
According to Deadline, Robert Rodriguez is teaming with producer Alexander Rodnyansky to unleash Machete Kills which will have a $120 million film fund from Media Talent Group’s Geyer Kosinski. The tagline for the upcoming film will be; “This time, they fucked with the wrong Mexican!”
At the moment an April start date seems likely with Danny Trejo returning to reprise his role. Rodriguez expects many of the original cast to return, well, the one’s that made it in the original.
A script has been written by Kyle Ward, and developed by Rodriguez and Marcel Rodriguez.
The film “finds Machete recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on an army in an effort to dismantle a plan for global anarchy.”
