Sometimes films make it, some don’t make it off the starting block and some get to a point where they realize that funds just aren’t available, case in point, Paradise Lost.
According to Variety, Legendary Pictures has officially pulled the plug on Alex Proyas’ adaptation of John Milton’s 17th-century poem Paradise Lost due to budgetary issues.
Insiders tells the site, that while Proyas’ vision of the movie was great, technology just wasn’t available and the filmmakers couldn’t reduce the budget enough to satisfy Legendary Pictures.
Bradley Cooper, Ben Walker, Casey Affleck, Djimon Hounsou, Rufus Sewell, Camilla Belle, Diego Boneta and Callan McAuliffe was originally slated to star in the film with a start date being pushed from January to June. Now it’s been pushed to extinction.
“The project was designed to showcase eye-popping aerial warfare, and Warner Bros. was onboard to distribute.”
