We have been hearing chatter about a follow-up to Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City for many years now and each time something always gets in the way and the project falls flat. now, however, it sounds as if the project will become a reality after all.
At Tuesday nights SXSW film festival, Robert Rodriguez took to the ACL Live stage at the Moody Theater to announce several Quickdraw Productions, one of which is the sequel to Sin City.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rodriguez mentioned that Sin City 2 is likely to begin production over the Summer, also the site mentioned that, “he’s thus far mum on casting, though he was willing to indicate that discussions with potential stars of both projects will be of the same caliber and eclecticism as the first films, which featured Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro, Lindsay Lohan, Josh Hartnett, Don Johnson and Steven Seagal.”
His other film on the cards is Machete 2 and that one begins filming this April, so stay tuned for even more updates.
