I like Chloe Moretz but I can’t picture her playing the quiet and social outcast that Carrie is. Also I don’t think Carrie is all that pretty, or young. Hopefully I will be prove wrong because I do love this movie/book.

Is it a remake of the original film ,a remake of the made for TV film(where they changed the ending and crapped on Kings work) or a retelling of the Stephen King novel?

No. Just no. This girl is too pretty to be Carrie and the original will always be the best. Fuck Hollywood and its inability to think of original scripts. Stop remaking movies!
