James Cameron Wants Terminator 5 To Focus On The T-800

At this time it is still unclear as to where Terminator 5 stands if at all. Justin Lin was at one point attached to helm the fifth installment, but he had to drop from the project last September. While the future for a new Terminator film looks bleak, James Cameron has ushered his two cents as to where the film should go.

While Cameron isn’t involved in the fifth film, he mentioned to MTV that he hopes or at-least suggest’s that the new Terminator flick will focus more on the T-800.

Some time ago, Cameron spoke with Arnold Schwarzenegger and suggested that he should not proceed with the film unless they focus more on that character.

“I was trying to be as encouraging as possible. Frankly, at that time, I thought it needed to be more about him,” Cameron said. “I told him he should not do it until it’s focused on his character or he shouldn’t do it. I think there are some great stories that can be told about that character that haven’t even been thought of yet.”

I totally agree, I think they are moving the timeline way too fast and some of the focus seems to have been lost. Although, saying that, I am one of the few that liked Salvation to a certain degree. However, I’m super excited to have Schwarzenegger back in the wagon and I can’t wait to see how this unfolds.
