Max Landis and Josh Trank’s box-office hit Chronicle, is a true testament proving that you don’t need a huge budget to have a high return. All you need is a brilliant original idea and some dedication towards your work, also a bit of luck is also very helpful.
Considering its huge profit, a sequel was just a matter of time, and writer, Max Landis has revealed to Tbreak some details for the proposed sequel. A small spoiler can be found below, so tread carefully.
“The movie you saw (Chronicle) in the sequel, is a thing. That edited footage … is a thing. So it’s not like ‘we found this footage after this kids died’. You can’t deny cars being thrown in the air in Seattle. You saw all those helicopters. The world changed. That’s the end of ‘Chronicle’. And things are going to be different now. They can’t possibly cover up what happened.”
He then goes on to talk about the return of Matt (Alex Russell)in the sequel;
“I loved Matt, and I felt really bad for him because I understood just how emotionally lazy he is and how he doesn’t really do what he’s doing. And that’s why I’m putting him through hell in (Chronicle) 2”
Landis also adds that it is very unlikely that the original helmer, Josh Trank, will return to direct the sequel.
