Hugh Laurie Becomes Villainous in RoboCop

‘ve said it before, but the casting for MGM’s upcoming reboot of RoboCop is absolutely stellar, and today’s piece of casting news continues in this tradition, with a move I never even pictured.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hugh Laurie (“House”) is currently in negotiations to play the villain in Jose Padilha’s RoboCop reboot.

If the deal goes through, “Laurie will play the evil and ultra-rich CEO of Omnicorp, the company that makes Robocop.”

Laurie will join the previously announced cast of Joel Kinnaman as Alex Murphy, Gary Oldman as the scientist-creator and Samuel L. Jackson as the media mogul.

The film hits theatres on August 9, 2013.
