So it appears as if the upcoming sequel to last year’s surprise hit, Rise of the Planet of the Apes has scored a title. According to Dread Central, the sequel has been given the title of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and we have the release date.
According to the site, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will be invading theatres on May 23, 2014 with Andy Serkis reprising his role as “Caesar”, and Robert Wyatt returns to direct.
The sequel “continues the story set forth in last year’s critical and commercial hit movie featuring simians that are given human intelligence and subsequently break out of their facility. At the same time, a virus breaks out that causes the collapse of human society. The new project is taking the story to the next level, with the apes on the path to emerge as society’s new rulers.”
