Some of you might be aware of this, but in case you aren’t here we go. Recently Ron Perlman donned the hulking Hellboy suit one more time for a ill child at the Make A Wish Foundation and made a very brave kid feel like he was on top of the world.
With this gracious act of kindness, it appears as if it has sparked something in both Guillermo del Toro and Ron Perlman. Over the years Perlman wasn’t too keen on doing a third entry due to the long hours in the hulking suit, but his recent visit via the Make a Wish Foundation has him game for more Hellboy.
In an Interview with Entertainment Weekly, del Toro and Perlman ushered in this little nugget for anxious fans.
Del Toro told the site, “I can say publicly that now we are together in trying [to do Hellboy 3].”
Perlman then told them, “The [first] two movies were really set up to have this unbelievable resolve. Everything that was done in both movies was leading up to this destiny, written in stone, of what Hellboy has been summoned to Earth to do. To not do it, particularly in light of the scope that Guillermo is thinking of for the resolve, would be in my mind a little bit of a shame.”
While they’re both on board for a third film they haven’t been in contact with Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, nor is a studio signed on, just yet. But, with both of them now singing the same tune I’m pretty sure this will get the go ahead very soon.
Its also great to see guys like Perlman take the time for an ill child and make his dreams come true.
