The guys over at MGM are really pulling out all the stops when it comes to Jose Padilha’s remake of RoboCop. This is one has some serious potential and we have word that yet another top caliber actor is stepping into the fold.
According to Deadline, Jackie Earle Haley is currently signing on to star in the remake which will see him play Maddox, the guy who dispenses the military training to Robocop.
Haley joins the previously announced cast of Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Hugh Laurie, Samuel L. Jackson and Abbie Cornish. Jay Baruchel is currently circling the project.
Synopsis: “In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the centre of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front.
Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilises their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life.
