I found this very funny and enjoyed it a lot. My only grip is that Michael Cera should have been the main focus. He was the best part in the movie to me.

Excellent post! I agree with every point made. Horror is my favorite genre -- it is practically all I watch -- but you know what? I loved this movie. It was endearing, funny and freshly innovative. A damn shame people, and most being those that haven't seen the film for themselves, are so quick to write it off as a Twilight replica. And there is nothing that makes me want to tear my hair out more than an elitist attitude. Some horror fans have quite the entitlement complex and I commend you for calling such fans out on it.

Great review Jason. I can't wait to see this film and even more so now having read your review.

I think I'll put as much effort into backing this stupid idea as the makers of BLACK DEVIL DOLL put into showing up at the Cinema Wasteland show where the film was slated to premiere... which is to say, none. Of course, I could have forgiven them for their lack of professionalism, had the movie not turned out to be so painfully unfunny and forgettable. If you can't win a freak like me over with a no-budget blaxploitation killer puppet movie, you're in the wrong business. These dudes need to go back to bagging at the Sav-A-Lot and leave the indie filmmaking to folks who know what they're doing.

Trust me, if your work day goes sour or ends on a rather unpleasant note, do yourself a HUGE favor and catch this flick at the next immediate showing. Guaranteed to buckle your belly AND turn that frown upside down!!!! =D
