Official Poster & Trailer for The Dinosaur Project

You know whats awesome? Dinosaurs! Yeah, we love ‘em, and what I love more is that found footage has been thrown into the mix as well, but unfortunately it was short lived as I felt a little deflated after watching the trailer which you can view below.

On the plus side, we have the very awesome quad poster courtesy of Empire which looks awesome, sadly the flick looks a little too much like a SyFy film, now that’s not a bad thing, but I was expecting more.

From the Press Release:

STUDIOCANAL are delighted to finally bring this astonishing story of the missing Congo expedition to UK audiences, and the findings of the Cryptozoological Society to audiences around the world. The film features stunning recovered footage of creatures thought to be extinct for 65 million years. As the search for the missing crew continues, questions remain about the source of the missing footage …and the manner in which it was discovered.

Producer Nick Hill said in a statement today, “It has been incredible to have the original source material to work with, and we have great respect and admiration for the work of the Cryptozoological Society and are keen to support them in their search. The movie raises important questions about species which conventional science tells us have long since become extinct, and we hope it will help raise awareness of the search to locate the missing persons and the BCZS’s ongoing work in the Congo.”

There is no word on a U.S. release at this time, but the film will hit UK cinemas this August 10th.
