The upcoming Ghostbusters sequel has pretty much been like a roller-coaster with all the ups and downs throughout the years. And the only person that seems to be updating us is thankfully Dan Aykroyd. However, its always hard to tell if things will follow through.
In a recent interview with Metro, Dan Aykroyd once again spoke about Ghostbusters 3, but this time publicly announcing that Bill Murray will not be involved in the third installment.
When asked if Bill Murray will be involved, Aykroyd replied, “No, I can tell you he won’t be involved.”
Aykroyd continued, “It’s sad but we’re passing it on to a new generation. Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill. My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn’t seem to be coming and we have to move on. It’s time to make the third one.”
Aykroyd went on to say that the studio is on their side, and they are currently trying out a few structures with the fans in mind. He also states that production is said to begin next year.
So with Murray now out, or is he? Is Ghostbusters 3 going to finally move ahead? Who knows, you know how it is, we’ve been promised many things over the years so its hard to believe anything at the moment. I guess time shall tell.
