I’ve said it before and it looks like I’ll be saying it for some time if the casting keeps continue the way it has been. MGM are pulling out all the stops when it comes to casting Jose Padilha’s RoboCop remake, the caliber of talent involved is off the hook and today we may be adding one more.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Kenneth Williams (pictured right; Boardwalk Empire) is currently in negotiations to star in the upcoming remake of RoboCop for MGM and Sony.
If the deal goes through, Williams will play the partner to Joel Kinnaman’s police officer Alex Murphy who is tight with Murphy’s family.
So far the film is set to star the impressive cast of Joel Kinnaman as the title hero, Hugh Laurie as the villain, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Jay Baruchel, Abbie Cornish and Jackie Earle Haley.
The film is expected to hit theatres on August 9, 2013.
