Official Poster Art for Mark Hartley’s ‘Patrick’ Remake

Chris Savage

There is that word again, and I’m sorry to have to be the one to constantly use it, but here we have yet another remake on our hands but perhaps there is hope that this one may be one of the very few good ones.

Below we have the first official poster art for Mark Hartley’s (Not Quite Hollywood) upcoming remake of Richard Franklin’s 1978 Australian flick, Patrick. I’m pretty sure you have heard the rumblings over the years about a remake, but now the time has come, Twitch is reporting that the film is slated for a November shoot with a release expected in October of 2013.

The film stars Sharni Vinson who plays the lead as the young nurse tasked with caring for the catatonic, psycho-kinetic and obsessive Patrick while Rachel Griffiths and Charles Dance round out the cast.

So, perhaps with Hartley in the director’s chair, we may just have a good shot at a great remake.

I always thought the original Patrick had potential but was really disappointing. For once I’m actually looking forward to a remake.

Now this is one movie that actually deserves a remake.
