Aimee Garcia is Cast in the RoboCop Remake

Well all of a sudden a ton of goods are making their way out of the RoboCop camp. We recently gave you guys your first look at the new suit, a brand new poster, and now we have even more casting news. Read on for all the details.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aimee Garcia (pictured right) has been cast in Jose Padilha’s RoboCop remake as a scientist who helps to put together RoboCop, along with his creator who is played by Gary Oldman.

Garcia also joins Samuel L. Jackson, Jay Baruchel, Michael Keaton, Michael Kenneth Williams, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Abbie Cornish, and Jackie Earle Haley.

Synopsis: “In RoboCop the year is 2029, and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the centre of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe, and now they want to bring this technology to the home front.

Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father, and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes its remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life.

He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.”

Look for RoboCop in theatres this August 9, 2013.
