Guillermo del Toro’s Deadly ‘Strain’ Closes in on FX

For those of you who loved Guillermo del Toro’s vampire novel trilogy Strain, might be pleased to know that the planned show is actually moving ahead and we have some early details below.

According to Variety, the TV channel FX, is closing in on a deal to order a pilot for the proposed series. However, it is very likely that the project could be fast-tracked to series order.

Carlton Cuse will be the showrunner, while Guillermo del Toro will serve as a co-writer along with Chuck Hogan.

Carlton Cuse told the site, “It’s a chance to tell a gripping, suspenseful story with characters that go on a wonderful emotional journey through the course of the story,” Cuse said. “It has all the elements you look for in an epic tale. It feels like the chance to do something that really adds something new to the genre.”

Cuse also added, “These are very scary vampires… These are not romantic vampires. They will give you nightmares.”
