Has the Oldboy Remake Found its Doctor?

Chris Savage

With the slate of remakes currently in hand, you’d be forgiven if you forgot one or two, or perhaps its best that you try to forget them altogether. Either way, the Oldboy remake is still well and truly on the cards and it looks as if the cast might grow even more.

According to Variety, Nate Parker (pictured right; Arbitrage) is currently in talks to star as the doctor who works for Elizabeth Olsen in the remake.

If plans to indeed go through, Parker will also join Josh Brolin, Sharlto Copley and Samuel L. jackson.

The revenge thriller follows “a man who is kidnapped and imprisoned for more than a decade for unknown reasons.”

Spike Lee is directing while Roy Lee and Doug Davison are serving as producers.
