Tormenta Films Ventures into the Darkest Side of the Human Soul with ‘El Mal’

We here love genre films from all around the world, if its dark, twisted, gory or just a great scare, we will be there front and center. So here we have the early word on an upcoming psychological thriller from our Spanish friends.

According to Variety, Tormenta Films has set up Juanma Bajo Ulloa’s (Butterfly Wings) psychological thriller El Mal. The film also marks the director’s first English-language film.

Juanma Bajo Ulloa will direct from his own screenplay which is said to be, “a disquieting story plumbing the darkest side of the human soul, making us question our ethical roots.”

Cristina Zumarraga of Tormneta Films (who worked on Steven Soderbergh’s ”Che” movies) said the cast will be “‘renowned international actors.”

That’s about all we know at this time, and this may turn out to not be very horror worthy, but I thought I’d let you guys know and we shall see where this one takes us.
