A Director Has Been Found for Fright Night 2

Chris Savage

For me, personally, the 1985 flick Fright Night, is one of the greatest vampire flicks ever made. It had absolutely everything I want from a horror flick, from the scares to the gore all the way up to the awesome soundtrack, it was also a lot of fun.

But, a remake did surface last year (one I still have not seen), and to my surprise, many people liked it and I’m assuming the film did quite well as a sequel has been announced.

According to STYD, Eduardo Rodriguez (Curandero, Fear Itself, Stash House) is currently in talks to direct the sequel which will go direct-to-DVD.

If you liked Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin in the remake, you will be disappointed to learn that neither will be reprising their roles in the upcoming sequel which is set to begin filming in Romania very soon.

No plot details have been released, but we do know that the sequel will be a stand-alone film.

The remake was awful. It also bombed at the box office which is why it is only getting a direct to DVD sequel instead of a theatrical release.
