I haven’t heard much regarding the remake of The Creature from the Black Lagoon, as I was hoping that the project just kind of died away, but, it appears as if the remake is still very much alive and well.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dave Kajganich (The Invasion) has been tapped to write the remake for Universal.
Eric Newman and Marc Abraham of Strike Entertainment are producing along with Gary Ross (his Father was one of the writers on the original flick) and Allison Thomas of Larger Than Life Productions.
We can also debunk the earlier news that Carl Rinsch is NOT directing the flick, so stay tuned for news on a director.
“The 1954 movie centered on a prehistoric water-breathing humanoid monster that lived in a remote Amazonian river and a group of scientists that want to study him.”
