John Carpenter to Receive Career Achievement Award at This Year’s Screamfest

Chris Savage

I’m almost certain John Carpenter needs no introduction, he is the one of the “masters of horror”, he ushered in a legacy which has lasted some 30+ years with Michael Myers and Halloween, and he continues to scare audiences around the world.

The dude, has made a slew of films, and while some may have missed the mark, who can forget such classics as The Thing, The Fog, Escape from New York and Prince of Darkness to name just a few.

So this news should have us all embracing the man’s legacy.

According to B-D, John Carpenter will be honored with the Career Achievement Award at this year’s Screamfest Horror Film Festival on Saturday, October 20th, which begins at 7 p.m. with a Q&A, and followed by a screening of John Carpenter’s 1987 flick Prince of Darkness.

This my friends is awesome, and a deserving title, will you be going to witness the celebrations?
