Legendary Backs Out of All You Need Is Kill

Warner Bros. is shooting their sci fi alien flick All You Need Is Kill in the UK right now. It seems however that Legendary doesn’t want any piece of it. Apparently the announcement was just made but Legendary had actually back out 10 days ago. Warner was begging for them to come back and partner with Village Roadshow.

“Legendary agreed to come on subject to terms. That meant subject to script, budget, and creative mandate,” confirms an insider at Deadline. “But then Legendary decided it doesn’t fit within their creative mandate or fanboy demographic and they didn’t really have the appetite for this. So they didn’t come to terms with Warner Bros.”

Doug Limon directs the film, which stars Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton, Jonas Armstrong, Tony Way, Kick Gurry, Franz Drameh, Dragomir Mrsic and Charlotte Riley. The screenplay is written by Dante Harper, Christopher McQuarrie and Joby Harold. Look for the flick in theatres on March 14, 2014. The film is based on a book by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. Check out the books synopsis below.

There’s one thing worse than dying. It’s coming back to do it again and again…

When the alien Gitai invade, Keiji Kiriya is just one of many raw recruits shoved into a suit of battle armor and sent out to kill. Keiji dies on the battlefield, only to find himself reborn each morning to fight and die again and again. On the 158th iteration though, he sees something different, something out of place: the female soldier known as the Bitch of War.

Is the Bitch the key to Keiji’s escape or to his final death?
