Despite the dodgy RoboCop costume that has been on display all over the Internet, I was looking forward in seeing Jose Padilha’s remake this August. But, it appears as if the film isn’t quite ready for a Summer release.
According to Dread Central, RoboCop has been moved from its initial August 9, 2013 spot all the way back until February 7, 2014! That’s quite a delay, no word as to why the move has taken place.
The film stars Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Jay Baruchel, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Jackie Earle Haley.
Synopsis: “In RoboCop the year is 2029, and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the centre of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe, and now they want to bring this technology to the home front.
Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father, and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes its remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life.
He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.”
