She's still alive in comic. If you love her character and your pissed off just read the comic. Personally, I'm happy the show mixes things up.

Nice article. Zombie announced his departure from horror and his next project being the hockey movie on Howard Stern's radio/YouTube show several days before Lords was released. So, it would seem the box office wasn't the issue. And no, it was not promoted much at all. The first third of Lords was, to me, perfect supernatural horror. The Bruce Davis storyline was hackneyed and the narrative did not cohere perfectly by the end. However, Zombie's strength is his willingness to veer into experimental film territory while making an otherwise linear picture. In House of 1000 Corpses, there is a sudden, brief scene of a farmer talking about how "that skunk ape" raped his wife. The color is polarized and it does not fit into the plot. What it does do is follow the emotional build of the movie, amping up the ambiguity and tension in a way the plot's events may not have been able to do. The man is the best thing going in horror today. His focus is on terror, not abiding by the rules of reality or linear storytelling. Halloween 2 and Lords both incorporate unsettling imagery and visuals that complete the psychological journey of the film without sticking to conventional modes of resolution. This does not make Zombie uneven or unpolished. It makes him brave and peerlessly original in a genre that requires well-worn tropes. I watch his films the way I watch David Lynch's. I will miss his involvement in horror a whole hell of a lot.
