Currently on DVD in the UK is Matthias Hoene’s Cockneys vs. Zombies, which is receiving fairly high praise and even being compared to other horror comedy films as Shaun of the Dead. I’m still yet to see this one, so I can’t comment, but for those of you in the States and Canada that are looking to check this one out, well, we have some early details.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Shout! Factory has picked up the rights to Cockneys vs. Zombies in the U.S. and Canada.

Shout! plans on releasing the film via VOD and DVD in 2013 with the possibility of a theatrical release, the shingle has also picked up the U.S. television rights to tyhe film.

The film follows “two clueless cockney brothers who plot to rob a bank in order to help save their grandfather’s old age home. But a strange virus is sweeping across East London, turning residents into zombies. The brothers band together to fight off the hordes of the undead and try and rescue the old folks.”
