Yeah, I thought so too. I mean, the reasons Carl stated later about why he shot the kid were wrong. But, I think the action was right. I would have shot that kid, too, if I had been Carl. Not because I needed to prove myself in some way, but instead because handing over a weapon and dropping it are NOT the same things. He steadily refused to drop his gun, instead continually trying to hand it over to Carl who was not in a position to take it from him and still keep his own gun easily and steadily trained. That might not have been why Carl shot him, by Carl's own admission, but it would be why *I* would definitely have shot that kid. It was the smart and safe choice to make, even if maybe not the moral one. He didn't know that kid and had no idea what that kid's intentions were, no way to gauge him by past behavior. All he knew was that that kid had been part of the group that attacked the prison and tried to kill everybody there. And now he's refusing to let go of his weapon and drop it on the ground. He had no way of knowing that the kid wasn't trying to just get Carl into a position where he could overpower him and gain control of Carl's gun as well as his own and possibly use Carl a as a hostage to control the other two people there. And during a close-contact struggle anybody trying to shoot the kid would have to risk shooting Carl, too. Maybe that kid really didn't have any intention of trying to get the better of Carl, maybe he really was trying to surrender. But he made a stupid move by not immediately dropping his gun and spending the ample time he was given to do so attempting to hand it over instead. Unfortunately, due to that stupid move he died. But, it was his own fault, as harsh as it might be to say it. The world has changed, giving people the benefit of the doubt just because of their age or situation is a good way to get killed when you live in a perpetual war zone where even the dead are out to kill you. Pretending that isn't the case is tantamount to having a death wish. I admit, Carl later did give some reasons for why he acted the way that he did and those were not the right reasons for the action he took. But, that doesn't make the action itself wrong. I think he did the smart thing, even if he did it for the wrong reasons. I can't begrudge his actions, but I can begrudge his later-stated reasoning. The debate going on over it, though, does definitely raise the question of when something becomes murder and when it's just simply self-defense or duty. Do the intentions behind the actions count, or does the situation itself overrule all else? And is there even a one-size-fits-all answer to that question?

I didn't even know that there was a petition to have Andrea return. I was ready for her to leave the show, though, so I don't think I really want her to return, even if only as a zombie. I think she had a surprising but good send-off. I wouldn't be shocked at all if Carl betrayed Rick. I might be surprised if he killed Rick, but not really too surprised. I can easily see Carl going that route if he stays on the emotional path he seemed to be on during s3 (especially by the end of the season). I do think it would be smart to back Daryl (or even Herschel) as the leader and have Rick either step down or be usurped as leader. I like Rick, I do, but if he's going to continue to be emotionally and mentally unstable like he was throughout the majority of s3...then I don't think he ought to be leader. Someone else stepping up at least until he can get himself together would be best. I don't know if Carl would be backing someone else because he thinks it's right or just to stick it to his dad whom he blames for a lot of the bad things that have happened, but it would be the right decision to make even if he ends up doing it for the wrong reasons. There's definitely something not "right" with Carl, though, and I can easily see him going dark side.

We actually didn't witness what happened to Lori. It was heavily implied that she was completely eaten by a zombie, whom Rick found with a belly so full and swollen it couldn't move. But, if so then it had to eat her bones and skull as well as her flesh. There was nothing left but a bloody stain on the floor, from what I remember. The last time we see Lori in the flesh, before that scene, is when she dies during child birth and Carl has to shoot her to make sure she doesn't come back as a zombie. However, I don't think that we saw Carl actually shoot her. We heard him fire the gun, but the camera was on Maggie at the time. I don't think we see Lori's body again, ever. So, it's possible that enough of her survived to become an ambulatory zombie, since everything that happened aside from her actual death from complications of child birth was implied and not actually shown. Still, Lori made cameos throughout season 3, anyway, as Rick's hallucinations. I don't think we've gotten any indication so far that that suddenly went away. So, I think if she shows up again we'll probably see her as Rick's hallucination again. We could see her as a zombie, I guess, but I hope not. I'm actually really sick of Rick's issues and would love for him to stop hallucinating, and whether he stops that or not seeing her as a zombie is probably going to make things worse for him and we'll have more emotionally and mentally unstable Rick for s4. <<; I seriously hope that's not the angle this goes, whether she makes cameos as anything or not. And it isn't that I don't like Rick, I love him. And I don't begrudge him grieving for his wife, especially since she died before they even patched things up between them. But, I think hallucinations and going insane are just a bit too far and I'm ready for that to end and for him to move on. So, hopefully that will happen during s4. Things are bad enough in zombie world without adding insanity. Plus, Michonne mentioned that she may have had a similar issue with her boyfriend's death and she seems to have moved beyond that now so...yeah, hopefully it's something Rick can and will get passed in s4. *crosses fingers* Either way, though, I'm still really looking forward to the next season of The Walking Dead and it's already hard knowing that I still have so long to wait before the premiere! And I know I'm not the only one frothing at the mouth for more despite how long there still is before we'll get it.

I liked the movie, but does it need a sequel? I don't think so.
