David Cronenberg Talks About the Dead ‘Fly’ Remake

Chris Savage

In my eyes there are some films you just don’t touch, but then again, I said that about The Evil Dead, so the hell with it! But with that being said I just don’t think you could do one up on The Fly, I mean it was already a remake and David Cronenberg took the film to heights I had never seen before. But there was a time when a remake was on the cards and Cronenberg has finally shed some light on the dead project.

Recently, The Playlist caught up with the director, and he let out these comments;

“It wasn’t really a remake, it was more of a sequel or a sidebar. It was a meditation on fly-ness. None of the same characters or anything and, of course, with an understanding of modern technology. It was something I was very pleased with and it was a disappointment not to get it made.”

Now this is dead in the water, but, would you ever be interested in a remake of a remake? Sound off below and let me hear your thoughts on another Fly remake.
