Meeting Evil Movie Review

Herner Klenthur

I have been eye balling Meeting Evil for awhile now wondering if it was worth me watching and given my budget limitations I opted not to buy it. It just landed on NETFLIX on Demand which took alot of the argument out of not seeing it so today while nursing a bad migraine I watched the film.

Meeting Evil stars Luke Wilson and Samuel L Jackson two of my favorite actors which is the main reason I was considering watching it in the first place. Luke Wilson has starred in some of my all time favourite films and Samuel L. Jackson will forever be one of the biggest bad asses in cinema. From Falling Down to Pulp Fiction and the ultimate in bad assery a JEDI Knight.

In fact anyone wondering why he is not being cast in Expendables 3? If they are casting Nicolas Cage I dont see how you cant cast Jackson.

Getting back to the point Meeting Evil is the story of a Real Estate Agent played by Luke Wilson who is married with two kids and falls on hard times. He has a chance encounter and meets a stranger with a strange interest in him played by Samuel L Jackson.

What starts out as a chance encounter quickly compounds into a multiple murder cross country trek involving the police, his loving wife and the big question of who is this strange man and where on earth is everything leading to other then blood shed and heart ache for all who cross their path?

Meeting Evil is by no means a perfect movie but fans of psychological thrillers like SEVEN and Silence of the Lambs I think will find alot to like in this somewhat flawed film.

Meeting Evil has an oustanding cast and a truly original story and villain but there was something lacking in the way it was shot and the way the whole story managed to come together. Its a good movie that with a bit of tweaking could have been a great movie.

If you are looking for something to kill some time on NETFLIX with and like a good serial killer thriller give Meeting Evil a shot and let me know what you think. I give it a 3 out of 5.

You should check out ‘Minus Man’ with the other Wilson brother Owen… one of his earlier movies and a real creeper.
