Here we have two potential candidates for the future of the genre, that is if they wish to carry on within the genre, I think they have the chops to pull it off and today we have learned that they have just been cast in Stephen King’s Mercy, read on for all the details.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chandler Riggs (pictured right), the child star of AMC’s The Walking Dead, and Super 8 star Joel Courtney have just been cast in Mercy, for Blumhouse and Wonderland Sound and Vision.
The film is set to be directed by Peter Cornwell, which follows “two brothers (Riggs, Courtney) who go with their mother to take care of their grandma. Unbeknownst to them, the grandmother is a witch, who made an evil deal using black magic years earlier.”
Mercy is based on King’s short story Gramma, which was first published in Weirdbook magazine in 1984. Frances O’Connor also stars as she plays the mother.
