The Walking Dead Season 4 is Confirmed – Glen Mazzara Steps Down

Chris Savage

During the beginning of season 2 of The Walking Dead, I was skeptical with the direction they was taking, but after sitting back and watch the story slowly unfold I knew it was for the greater good. But since Glen Mazzara took over the show, season 3 has been a freakin’ massacre, a must watch for anyone so its no wonder that season 4 has been confirmed. Sadly, this also means the exit of Glen Mazzara.

According to TV Line, The Walking Dead has been confirmed for a fourth season, but with that, Glen Mazzara has sadly had to step down.

AMC has stated;

“[We’re] grateful for his hard work. We are both proud of our shared success. Both parties acknowledge that there is a difference of opinion about where the show should go moving forward, and conclude that it is best to part ways. This decision is amicable and Glen will remain on for post-production on Season 3B as showrunner and executive producer.”

Glen Mazzara tells the site, “after I finish Season 3, it’s time to move on. I have told the stories I wanted to tell and connected with our fans on a level that I never imagined. It doesn’t get much better than that. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey.”

So there you have it, some good news and some not so good, here’s hoping that they can still kick some ass.

AMC seems to have this problem a lot. After the first season ended, leaving us all wanting more, Frank
Darabont left the show for similar reasons. To lose such an asset was
sure to cripple the quality of the show, and it did. Season 2 was a huge
let down for me for many reasons.

AMC thought it best to cut
the budget per episode, which was just ridiculous. You have a hit show
and you take away funding? There was word that this was done to fund
their new show Hell on Wheels. One budding tv show at a time please.

was the addition of an obscene amount of commercial breaks. I
understand that commercials are a necessity for bringing in money,
however the addition of so many with the cutting of the budget per
episode simply did not make sense to me.

        Furthermore, the final
straw was the long and drawn out story line. I know and understand
character development, but the show began to remind me of a damn soap
opera. The story went stagnant and stale for me, leaving me with a
        bitter taste in my mouth.

The best part of the second season was
the promise of the group finding the prison, and the introduction of
Michonne for season three. And season three has been magnificent so far.

Now that we are back on pace with the great story telling and pace, you allow for the person responsible,Glen Mazzara, to walk? I don’t know who is running AMC, but it seems that a
change of management may be due. I sure hope that AMC is able to bring
on someone of equal talent to take the reins. The Walking Dead is too
good of a story to be handled by those that are unworthy.

Im going to have to disagree and agree. In my personal opinion Season 2 was magnificent. It was a wonderful story that allowed the character development to build far greater than the first season. It didnt have a lot of action in which Im glad it didnt. It gave us all a break.
For most people they didnt like Season 2. And that because those people crave gore, action and suspense.
Obviously Season 2 worked. It made record numbers. So the directors and production crew did what was planned. Tell a story that can captivate the audience.
Season 3 was Aliens to Alien. Action packed. Guns ablazing.
This show, has been one of the best show to ever be on TV. It tells a story. While keeping the suspense week in and week out.
We are only in mid season and Im dying to see how the rest of the season will unfold.
And im sure it will leave the audience to crave more untill Season 4.
