Will We Be Seeing Another ‘Munsters’ Reboot?

Chris Savage

Oh NBC, what ever will we do with you? I’m sure many of you remember the ill-fated reboot of The Munsters, Mockingbird Lane? Well, maybe not as it didn’t exactly stick around very long, in fact it just turned into a Halloween special and then NBC decided to plug the plug and that was the end of that chapter, or was it?

Well, it doesn’t sound as if NBC are totally done with the idea of rebooting The Munsters as NBC chief Bob Greenblatt tells Deadline;

“I won’t say we won’t do another version of The Munsters. We just decided that it didn’t hold together well enough to yield a series.” He continues. “It looked beautiful and original and creative, but it just all ultimately didn’t come together…, it just didn’t ultimately creatively all work. But we tried to make it not just a sitcom. We tried to make it an hour, which ultimately has more dramatic weight than a half-hour. It’s hard to calibrate how much weirdness vs. supernatural vs. family story. I just think we didn’t get the mix right.”

Could we be expecting Mockingbird Lane to return or are we set for simply an all new reboot? Sound off below, let us know what you thought of Mockingbird Lane?
