Just last week we unleashed the official UK poster for Franck Kaulfoun’s Maniac remake, and now today the official UK trailer has made its way online and we have that sucker for you guys below.
I for one am freakin’ stoked for this one, if you live in the UK, you can catch this one in cinemas this March 15th. Unfortunately a we still have no word on a U.S. release date.
The film stars Elijah Wood and Nora Arnezeder.
Synopsis: “Just when the streets seemed safe, a serial killer with a fetish for scalps is back and on the hunt.
Frank is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank’s obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed a long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill.”
Hmmm. I’m not sure what to think of this yet. It might be a decent remake, but my only concern is that this re-adaptation may be end up being too slick and glossy. The original was disturbing (to me) due to its low-down, dirty atmosphere and the creepy (kinda gross) lead role of Joe Spinell (as Frank). I’m not sure if Elijah Wood is going to add to that great thing that the original had. Maybe, I guess. We’ll see.
