Beetlejuice 2 Movie Pushing Forward

Jason McDonald

Is Seth Grahame-Smith still typing away at that Beetlejuice 2 script? Since hooking up with Tim Burton to help pen the script for Dark Shadows, the two seem to have become fast friends. Along with Dark Shadows, the two also collaborated on Seth Grahame-Smith's adaptation of his novel “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.” It was during this magical period in 2012 that it was announced that Smith would draft the script for Burton's Beetlejuice 2.

Since then, the chatter grew quiet and the world wondered if the Beetlejuice 2 project was still an actual thing. Then, in the wee hours of the morning (9am to be precise) Smith tweeted out an ominous image of a Beetlejuice figure standing in front of a computer with the words “It's showtime…”

What could it mean? Could Smith be delving deep into the Beetlejuice script? To be honest, the message is so vague that it could've meant he was sitting down at his computer to eat some Cheerios and watch Beetlejuice on Blu-Ray. Let's hope it's the former and not the latter. Though that does sound good right about now…

I would absolutely love to see a sequel to this movie on two conditions. One being of course, Michael Keaton, along with rest of the cast reprising their roles. Two, keeping true to the original vibe of the original. Beetlejuice was the movie to my childhood. If they fuck it up I would be devastated.

No. other than big fish and Sweeney Todd tim Burton seems to have lost that hunger he use to have. I believe a sequel to one of the movies Burton did so hungrily would only prove to be flawed and drab.

i think the only way to not screw this up is to have it alot like the original with in graphic wise. having it as just like any other high special effect movie would only lead to ruin they need to go back a decade in producing use props instead of computerized effects because no one wants to see that crap for this time around make the movie look like an 1980’s movie but in high quality.

well i can’t wait for this movie even if the b-man scared me when i was a kid i still was a fan with a beetlejuice pull string doll and everything. i know tim burton movies have had johny depp in them alot. but he is a great actor he’s just as weird as burton so a beetlejuice movie with keaton and depp would be soo sick….as long as depp is not beetlejuice and doesn’t over play keaton on the acting. deep could be a long lost family member of the b-man that is making hell for everyone which makes the original family that has not contacted beetlejuice in 26 years call for him. depp’s suit could be alot like beetlejuice’s purple suit near the end. have deep look completely different but similar in means of the suit. beetlejuice wore a black and white striped suit with sometimes a purple inside shirt(cartoon). so depp’s suit could be styled in a old 1920’s gangster suit that looks old as he died in it. i also hope that beetlejuice is in the movie longer then last time of 20-30 minutes. i mean come on the b-man has come to be very popular over the years. any fan would be disappointed if they only got to see there favorite character that they been waiting over 20 years to see for only 15 – 30 minutes now thats just fucking wrong.
