How close do you want to be with your favorite celebrities? Is an autograph all you need or do you want to be a part of their life? There’s no denying that our culture tends to deify celebrities, it’s been that way since the dawn of Hollywood. Only now with the advent of the internet and technology, we can tap into their lives 24/7 and absorb everything they have to give us.
Now that is truly scary. And it’s also an idea that serves as the basis for Brandon Cronenberg’s new film Antiviral. Syd March (Caleb Landry Jones) brings fans closer to the celebrities they love by infecting them with diseased blood from their favorite stars. Don’t worry, the fans pay good money for his service. However, when Syd accidentally infects himself with a virus that killed a popular starlet he becomes the target of other biological collectors.
The film hits theaters and VOD on April 12th, 2013. There’s a new trailer being passed around that you can watch below, but I’m not sure why people are claiming this is new. I went back and looked at the trailer that was released last year and it’s the exact same trailer. But hey, the movie looks cool and maybe you could use a refresher.
