Its Official – Sinister 2 Is Going Ahead

Chris Savage

We all knew it was coming, but its nice to have that bit of confirmation. So, it appears as if Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions could have another franchise on its hands if Sinister 2 does as well as the original.

According to Deadline, Blumhouse Productions is moving forward on Sinister 2 with plans to turn it into a franchise.

At this time it is still unclear as to who will direct the sequel, but Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill will be back in some capacity as they wrote the original film.

As with a lot of Jason Blum projects, Sinister 2’s plot details are still undisclosed, but the original film followed “a true crime novelist who discovers a box of mysterious, disturbing home movies that plunge his family into a supernatural nightmare.”

So what do you guys think of a sequel to Sinister? And how about the prospect of it turning into a franchise?

Just saw this a few days ago and didn’t like it. I didn’t find it scary. Sure some of the kills were disturbing, but I never felt scared. For the sequel I’d like to see more of the “Boogie Man”. He was a creepy character that I felt wasn’t used enough.
