Monsters: Dark Continent Ramps UpDirector Gareth Edwards landed the ultimate gig of directing the Godzilla reboot from his work on his previous film, Monsters. A sequel has been in the works and today some more information has arrived from Screen Daily. Principal photography has already begun in Jordan on Monsters: Dark Continent under Misfits director Tom Green making his debut feature film. Gareth Edwards is still on board only this time merely producing.

Welcome To The Punch actor Johnny Harris stars alongside Sam Keeley (What Richard Did) and Joe Dempsie (Game Of Thrones) in the anticipated sequel, set “some years after” Edwards’ cult hit original, which won four British Independent Film Awards.

In Dark Continent, Infected Zones have spread across the world. While US military try to wipe out the monsters, they soon realize they face resistance from a number of corners. Filming will take place in Jordan for five weeks, followed by a week in Detroit.
