Written and Directed by Marc Roussel, Remote is a 20 minute short horror film that takes what could have been a very simple idea and runs it through the blender. The film’s “hook” is as fascinating as it is smart, and there are numerous unpredictable twists, each of which is more surprising than the one that came before it. The brilliant use of a time paradox really sets Remote apart from your typical short film, but just as importantly, Roussel makes great use of the small amount of time he has to develop the characters just enough to give them some weight.
No reason for me to yap on-and-on about the film when you can watch it for yourself below. And trust me when I say it is 100% worth your time. I have reviewed numerous horror shorts, and Remote propels beyond its budgetary restrictions to be, without a doubt, one of the best I have ever seen.
