Short Film Review: What to Do With Your Dead Hooker

Short Film Review: What to Do With Your Dead HookerWhat to Do With Your Dead Hooker is a short 1950s style educational video that, instead of focusing on genitalia, sexuality or dope, will help people deal with their dead hooker, should the situation ever arise that is. The short was put together by writer/director team Daedalus Howell and Jerry Rapp and actually does have a pretty authentic look to it. Despite the obviously unrealistic subject matter, it very well could have been shown in classrooms to little Susie and Tommy during phys-ed back in the ‘50s.

The filmmakers are naturally going for comedy here, and the overall idea is inherently funny, and there are a few good moments to be had in the short 5 minute runtime. However, as a whole, What to Do With Your Dead Hooker falls a little flat for me. It’s not that it’s a bad short or that it’s completely devoid of humor, it just isn’t too appealing to my specific tastes. That might not be the case for most other viewers, though, so I still would feel confident in recommending a watch since it will hardly take any time out of your day. If you do decide to give it a whirl, please share your thoughts in the comments and tell me how wrong or right I am!
