I don't know about you guys, but I loved Scream 4. I loved it so much that I hoped they would just kill the franchise right then and there. Don't get me wrong, in a perfect world I would want a Scream 5. However, we don't have that luxury. We live in the real world where horrible mistakes are made all the time. Scream 4 seemed to be the perfect way to put a cap on the franchise. It brought everyone back for one last hoorah and provided a decent commentary on the current state of horror. What more could possibly be said?
No one cares about what I want though and the rumor mill keeps chugging away with whispers of a follow up to the series. Whispers that even include talk of a TV show. I'll let Wes Craven tell you in his own words below in an excerpt from an Arrow in the Head interview.
So far I have not heard anything about SCREAM 5 from Bob Weinstein. There is some talk about a television series, but I don't think anything has moved forward on that yet. With Kevin Williamson (original Scream writer) dipping his toe in the TV genre with the slasher-esque show The Following, it definitely seems like Scream could find a home on television. What say you? What do you want the next installment of the Scream franchise to be?
