The Town that Dreaded Sundown remake is shaping up to be an interesting film. With it’s quasi-meta plot and a cast of relatively unknown actors, the film feels like such an uncertainty. However, the fact that Ryan Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story) and Jason Blum (Insidious, Paranormal Activity) are teaming up to put this thing together turns all this uncertainty into an exciting possibility.
Today we’ve learned from The Hollywood Reporter that another actor has joined the project. Travis Trope has landed the lead role opposite Addison Timlin. According to THR “Timlin plays a young high schooler being raised by her grandmother who’s targeted by the mysterious killer. Tope will play a classmate who befriends Timlin’s character and decides to make a documentary about the search for the killer. The pic begins shooting in May in Louisiana.”
The film is being directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (American Horror Story) and written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa who wrote the upcoming Carrie remake and worked with Ryan Murphy on Glee.
