Big Summer Movies to Be PG-13

In other news: The sky is blue and grass is green.  The MPAA has announced today that several high-profile summer blockbusters will be rated “PG-13.”

The ones that are relevant to our interests include such anticipated films as Pacific Rim and R.I.P.D.  If you wanted to get down to the dirty details, here are the reasons given for the ratings:

Pacific Rim: sequences of intense sci-fi action and violence throughout, and brief language.

R.I.P.D: violence, sci-fi/fantasy action, some sensuality, and language including sex references.

The one real interesting sidenote is that the often delayed 7500 has been given a PG-13 rating as well.  For thematic material, some scary images and brief language.  7500 was supposed to be released last year until it got pushed back to this year, where it was supposed to be released today.
